Cultivating Community
Tenant Activations
Up Top Acres specializes in activating farm and garden spaces to connect people with food and community. For sites where gardens aren’t accessible, garden-focused events can still engage folks in food and sustainability-focused programming.
Pop-Up Events
We host a variety of pop-up events, like seedling planting in spring and bouquet making in summer, that can be interactive or grab-and-go style.
-
Seedling Planting
Guests will have the opportunity to pot their own seedling with the guidance of an Up Top Acres farmer. They can choose from a variety of kitchen herbs like basil, mint, and more. Each guest will leave with their potted herb and a care card containing instructions for plant maintenance.
-
Bouquet Making
We'll provide a variety of flowers and instruct guests to arrange their own fresh floral arrangements in mason jar vases. An Up Top Acres farmer will offer useful information about flower types, practical tips and tricks on how to arrange, and best practices to ensure each arrangement lasts as long as possible.
-
Mocktail Hour
Herbs are a great way to enhance mocktails and cocktails! We’ll bring a selection of mixes and allow guests to sample each pre-made mocktail. We’ll also provide complementary herbs for garnish. Guests will be able to bring a selection of herbs home or bottled mixers available for purchase.
-
Harvest Stand
Don’t have a rooftop garden? We’ll bring the fresh produce to you! An Up Top Acres farmer will bring a variety of our vegetables and herbs and set up a farm stand where tenants can select a bag of produce to bring home. Consider adding on products such as tote bags, jars of honey, or locally-made salad dressing for an additional fee.
Community and Educational Series
We offer more in-depth garden activations by hosting workshops, garden tours, and educational/social events. Educational events such as Tasting Tours and Organic Gardening 101 offer interactive learning experiences, while yoga and painting in the garden classes use it as a place for gathering and connection.

Festival-scale Social Events
Festival-style events are designed to host 200+ people in and around the garden/farm. Whether it be a family-focused Summer Social with kite decorating and bug scavenger hunts or a Beer in the Garden event with produce from the farm to brew a collaboration beer, festivals incorporate agriculture into a large-scale community event.
