Do you accept volunteers?

We do not currently accept volunteers on the farms or gardens. If you’re looking to volunteer in the DC Metro Area, please check out one of our partners, Dreaming Out Loud, who has a wide array of volunteer opportunities.

What is the minimum amount of space needed for a garden?

We can create a garden in as little as 200 square feet

What happens to the garden/farm in the winter?

At the end of the growing season our farmers begin to clean up the garden in preparation for the winter. This involves turning off irrigation, removing the annual plantings, and sowing a cover crop to prevent erosion and build soil fertility. The garden is ‘put to rest’ until temperatures begin to rise again.

Can I host an event at my building if I don’t have a garden?

Absolutely! We’re happy to host events at buildings that do not have our farms or gardens.
