The Farm at Halley Rise Summer Update ‘24
The Farm at Halley Rise is full of life in the mid-summer heat! The fruit trees dispersed throughout the farm (apple, peach, plum, fig and persimmon) are maturing, while the fruiting bushes have almost concluded their first flush of the season of delicious fruits. The annual vegetable garden consisting of cooking greens, herbs, cukes and zukes continue to fill the shelves of our non-profit food pantry partner, Cornerstones, as well as a monthly harvest table at the Noblis Building at Halley Rise. Other crops such as tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are coming soon! In the western area of the site, our new fruit trees are putting on strong growth, and the bees continue to forage for pollen and nectar, filling frame after frame of sweet honey.
